Are you an early adopter of new technology? Do you thrive off of being the first to drive a new BMW vehicle? Are you an environmental activist that feels strongly about the future of electric mobility? If you've answered "yes" to any or all of these questions then we're guessing you'll also say "yes" to the BMW Electronaut call. Good thing too, considering the automaker just opened up recruitment.
That's right. Electronaut hopefuls across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and California can now apply to participate in the BMW ActiveE trial run. Over that past year, BMW has mounted some serious anticipation surrounding its all-new all-electric offering. However, if by chance you haven't heard, Taylor BMW is happy to share. In order to test out electric mobility of the future, BMW will now begin to select 700 "Electronauts" to lease the BMW ActiveE and drive it in real-world situations.
Those interested in taking on the Electronaut mission must think fast and hard regarding their decision. We say "fast" because the recruitment process occurs on a first-come-first-serve basis and models are limited. While taking on any cutting-edge BMW vehicle is a no-brainer, it's important to think hard about your choice as much will rest on your level of ActiveE commitment. Each and every Electronaut will be integral in gathering valuable electric vehicle data that will then be used to create BMW EV's of the future. Already, company officials have decided to pump out a BMW i3 in 2013 and a BMW i8 the following year.
Think you've got what it takes to be a BMW ActiveE pioneer? If so, simply visit www.bmwusa.com/ActiveE to begin the recruiting process today. Of course, if you'd rather follow the Electronaut mission from the sidelines, be sure to stay tuned to our Taylor BMW blog. We promise to keep those in the Evans area updated on the ActiveE progress and any other emerging BMW initiatives.
