BMW M5 Bids V10 Farewell

Whisperings of an imminent increase in fuel economy standards are getting louder. Understandably, such news has many speed hounds full with angst. After all, the tactic of most automakers is simply to sacrifice power. But, not BMW.

It's not that we blame other automakers for sacrificing power...It certainly is one of the easiest solutions available. But, BMW isn't worried about making their life easier.  They're concerned with continuing to meet luxury drivers' scrupulous standards for power.

BMW Gives Insight into New M5

What does BMW have in store next for the BMW M5? Now, why would Taylor BMW go and ruin the surprise like that? Oh, right because we're dedicated to keeping you informed, that's why. BMW is busy preparing a dynamic debut of four new models at the 64th International Frankfurt Motor Show, this fall. Among the four vehicles expected to make their premier are the 2012 M5, M3 GTS Sedan, redesigned 1-Series, and I3.

At this time, Taylor BMW doesn't have the full details on any of these forthcoming BMWs... Just an overview we've provided below. We do, however, promise more details as they become available.

The BMW M5 Back For 2012

The BMW M5 is a high-performance edition of the BMW 5-Series executive car built by the luxury automaker's Motorsport division. Revealed at the Amsterdam Motor Show back in '84, the first version of the M5 was hand built utilizing the 535i chassis and a modified BMW M1 engine. It was the fastest production car in the world at the time when it was introduced. Following renderings have been built from each generation of the 5-Series platform, including the E34, E39, and E60/61. And, fully retuned, it will once again hit the showroom floors in 2012.
